Beginner Soap Making

Learn the basics of cold-process soap making! You will make all-natural honey and oatmeal soap, learn the basic process of soap making, and learn how to safely make soap at home. You will leave the class with 2 lbs. of cold process soap, the recipe for the soap you make, and your soap mold. Students should wear long sleeves to class.

Join us for an engaging Coffee Talk at Marshwood Adult and Community Education every other Monday! Discover topics that ignite your curiosity and foster meaningful connections with others. Parking direction will be sent upon registration.

If you are a storyteller, aspiring to become one, or simply enjoy listening to stories, this Coffee Talk is for you. This presentation will cover a variety of topics related to storytelling, including different styles, techniques, creative writing, and story development. Attendees can also expect to hear a story or two during the session.                                                                                                 

Advanced Photography

Intermediate Soap Making

Previous cold-process soap-making experience is required for this class. In this course, you will learn how to formulate your own recipes, which natural colorants you can use to color your soaps, basic swirling techniques, and use of essential oils in your soap. You will leave this class with 2 lbs. of soap and your soap mold. Students should wear long sleeves to class.

Crafting for a Cause: Zero Waste Leather Earrings - Class in Kittery

In this workshop, students will create lightweight earrings from tie-dyed and patent leather remnants, paired with sterling silver components. Design eco-friendly gifts while embracing a zero-waste philosophy! As a self-taught artist and maker committed to zero waste values, Francine is passionate about teaching skills that inspire creativity and innovation, encouraging students to explore new materials and ideas beyond leather in their crafting journeys. Students can choose how many pairs of earrings they want to make. Max 10 students.

A compelling story has the power to engage an audience and take them along on its journey. Many people believe that storytelling is challenging and complex, but that is not the case. With some essential skills and practice, anyone can become a storyteller. In this two-part workshop, you will learn how to effectively structure a story with a clear beginning, middle, and end. We will discuss key elements such as set-up, conflict, and resolution. Additionally, we will cover public speaking and performance techniques to enhance your storytelling abilities.

Lazy Susan Resin Art - Class in Kittery

Let’s put a SPIN on resin art! Join us to create your own unique design on a Lazy Susan

During this class you will create a design of choice on a large 13” round Lazy Susan. You may choose from a variety of colored dried flowers or create ocean waves as shown in picture. If you choose the floral design, after you have arranged the dried flowers, Brigitte will Guide you with measuring and mixing the resin and then pouring a resin overlay. If you choose the Ocean Waves design, Brigitte will guide you with measuring and mixing the resin and adding pigments. The instructions of how to apply the different colored pigment will follow. The resin art is left overnight to cure. It is not advisable to take your art home the day of the class. If you choose to transport your art home the day of the class, it is at your own risk. Wear clothing that is suitable for art projects, spills, stains. Please arrive 15 min. early to be ready to participate in the class at the start time.

Night Light Resin Art - Class in Kittery

Let’s light up your night and brighten your day! No two-night lights are alike! You choose the design. In this workshop you will create 2 decorated night light covers using 4-inch resin molds. An array of supplies will be on hand; crushed, stained and fire glass, vitrigraph, seashells, sand, trinkets, baubles, dried flowers.  Examples will be provided along with one-on-one guidance.

After you have created your design, you will measure, stir, and pour the resin into the molds. The two molds will be kept overnight to cure. You may pick up your resin art during the next business day or the time designated.  Included in this class are two nightlights with brackets to attach your night light covers. You may keep the molds for another resin art project.
