Bus Drivers Needed!

As many in the community may already know, school districts have a high-need call out for bus drivers. Adult Education is excited to announce a test preparation course for any individuals interested in becoming a bus driver. We have an experienced educational teacher to help individuals with the certification exam with the support of an industry professional.

This is a free drop in program at Marshwood Adult Education located at Marshwood High School. Please give us a call for additional details!

The World of Work Inventory (WOWI)

The World of Work Inventory (WOWi) is a comprehensive career assessment instrument, which has been carefully constructed to help a person learn the most about him or herself in relation to the wide variety of occupations available. The WOWi provides a personalized profile for each person. As a result, you will receive a listing of occupations most suitable to your unique combination of personality, interests and skills.

Free, call for link to take the online assessment then meet with the career counselor to interpret the career reports.

IC3: Digital Literacy Certification

Earn stackable computer certifications. The IC3 is composed of three exams, each awarding its own certificate, at the basic, intermediate, and advanced levels.

Level 1 measures knowledge of fundamental concepts and essential components. Level 2 requires a working knowledge of each of the seven skill groups. Level 3 validates an advanced understanding of digital literacy and indicates that the candidate has the technical foundation needed to advance successfully along their educational and employment paths and support the development of more specialized technological skills. The Level 3 IC3 certification has potential to earn college credits.

Classes are online with a live instructor Wednesdays, September 14- December 14, 6:00-8:00pm.

Free to eligible adult education students or $70 for non-student community members.

Behavior Health Professional Training


with Woodfords Services

Children’s Behavioral Health Services is vital to Maine’s children with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, and Mental Health Disorders and their families. The need in our area is great!

We are excited to connect our adult education community with this wonderful ONLINE training program. This online training is Free. The training will prepare you for employment through local social services agencies and the school districts.  

The program can be started at any time and finished at your own pace. You will complete 12 online modules then 3, 4-hour live sessions, including the new ethics and boundaries training. 

Once the modules are completed, participants that do not already possess CPR certification will be required to complete either in-person or blended Child & Adult CPR/FA training. You can take CPR through Adult Education or Woodfords Services. 

The entire training requirements will take about 45 hours. Any individual who will be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalency upon completion of the course may register.
