Knitting

Have you always wanted to learn how to knit? Or has it been a long time since you've picked up the needles? Maybe you're stuck on a project. Join us in a relaxed and fun atmosphere! You'll learn how to cast on, knit and purl, read a pattern, as well as repair mistakes in an easy-going class. It's fun to be part of a creative community. All levels are welcome. You'll need a skein of light-colored Red Heart Worsted Weight yarn and a pair of size needles (size 7 or 8 is best). Other small supplies will be discussed. Get ready to learn how to make all kinds of items suitable for gift-giving. One of Vicky’s favorite patterns is a dead fish hat which she is happy to share. Get ready to laugh with Vicky, she certainly makes knitting fun. Sessions are taught separately, with no prior experience required.

Our all-time favorite knitting instructor, Vicky Vaughn, is now offering 2-hour sessions throughout February and March. These sessions are open to everyone, regardless of your skill level or experience. Whether you're a beginner, have a specific project in mind, or just want to learn more about knitting, you're welcome to join us (yarn & needles are provided for practice techniques).
Session runs between 4:30-6:30 PM
Cost is $15
Registration is required.

How to Write Scenes that Grip Your Reader and Keep them Turning the Page - Class in Kittery

A scene is a building block of your story, and its purpose is to advance the plot while also showcasing characters involved in a definitive point of tension that challenges them externally as well as internally. In this hands-on writing workshop, you’ll learn how to construct a scene that deeply engages the reader with the story so that they want to know what happens next (i.e. Keep Turning the Page). For fiction and memoir writers. All participants will be expected to submit at least 10 pages of a work-in-progress that will be workshopped by all members of the class. All genres are accepted, but please don’t submit offensive material. If you have questions about this, you can email the instructor. Max 6 students.
Fundamentals of Photography
