Academic Lab

Students are invited to come in during this open lab to catch up on homework, study for exams, or to use the computers for school or job search related tasks. 

We also offer HiSET pre-testing, Accuplacer testing and proctored exams during the Academic Lab each week.

Must be registered with Marshwood Adult Education. Call 207-384-5703 for more details and to register.

Lab hours: Wednesdays 5pm-8pm, through Dec 11th.

Adult & Pediatric CPR / First Aid / AED - Session 1

This course, which meets OSHA/workplace requirements, will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants. It teaches students to recognize and care for first aid emergencies such as: burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illness, head, neck, back injuries, and heat and cold emergencies. 

Students who successfully complete this course will receive an American Red Cross certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.

Advanced Soap Making (Dairy Soap)

$25

Calendar Nov 20, 2019 at 6 pm, runs for 1 week

Material Fee: $15 (payable to instructor at class) 

Previous cold process soap making experience is required. In this course you will learn how to make soap using goat milk or other dairy products including yogurt and cream. You will learn the benefits of using dairy products in soap and will leave class with 2lbs of soap and your soap mold.

Bao or Baozi - Chinese Buns

A Chinese Tea House dish you can make at home! We will go over different filling options, but in class will use a peanut butter and honey mixture. We will form, rest, and steam samples. 

If students want to make dough to take home, they will need all purpose or bread flour, a packet of instant yeast, a bowl to mix and a container to bring dough home (3qt - 6qt plastic container).

 

Beginner Soap Making - Session 2

Material Fee: $15 (payable to instructor at class) 

Learn the basics of cold process soap making! You will make all natural honey and oatmeal soap, learn the basic process of soap making, and how to safely make soap at home. You will leave class with 2lbs of cold process soap, the recipe for the soap you make, and your soap mold.

 

Boston Christmas Festival Trip

You will find an array of home accessories, artisan jewelry, handcrafted holiday décor, gourmet specialty foods and handcrafted gifts unavailable elsewhere.

Saturday Nov. 9th 

Our Schedule (8:30-5:30pm):

Depart Marshwood High School at 8:30 am 

Arrive at the Seaport World Trade Center (Show opens 10am) 

Meet the bus at 1:00pm for the trip to Quincy Market 

(if the weather is wet we will visit Copley Place)

Re-board the bus at 4:00pm for the return trip to South Berwick 

There will be plenty of space to safely store your show purchases. 

As always, we will travel via Custom Coach.

 

$52 includes bus and adult show ticket

$35 for children 14 years and younger 

(call Marshwood Office at 207-384-5703 to purchase child ticket)

$2-3 cash tip fee will be collected on the bus for the bus driver.
